Capstone Names Ashley Andersen Zantop as New Group Publisher and General Manager
Capstone has named Ashley Andersen Zantop Group Publisher and General Manager of Capstone imprints Capstone Press, Compass Point Books, Picture Window Books, and Stone Arch Books.
MANKATO, MN, March 26, 2011 /Publishing and Books PR News/ -- Capstone, the leading publisher of children's books and digital products and services, has named Ashley Andersen Zantop Group Publisher and General Manager of Capstone imprints Capstone Press, Compass Point Books, Picture Window Books, and Stone Arch Books. Andersen Zantop brings more than 20 years experience in publishing and a background in education to her new role, and will lead the strategic development and growth of the Capstone product line.
"I'm thrilled to join Capstone, a proven leader in children's publishing for the last 20 years, and I look forward to driving product development and expanding our presence in trade, international, classroom and other markets, while maintaining our leadership position in the library market," said Andersen Zantop.
Previously, Andersen Zantop served as CEO, President, Publisher, and a member of the board of directors of Palm Publishing, LLC, and before that, Trudy Corporation, an independent children's publishing company and online retailer focusing on children's "edutainment." She began her career in publishing in 1989 with Plymouth Press, Vergennes, Vt., and worked in the field for several years as an editor, graphic artist, and art director.

Ms. Andersen Zantop is a graduate of the University of Michigan School of Literature, Science, and the Arts and the University of Michigan School of Education. She holds degrees in English Literature (AB) and Elementary Education (AB.ED), as well as teaching certificates (CERT K-5, CERT 6-8). Ms. Andersen Zantop is currently completing her MFA in Creative Writing at Fairfield University, Fairfield, Conn.
Andersen Zantop will be based out of Minneapolis and will report to Tom Ahern, Capstone CEO. She began her new position March 23.
