WINCHESTER, VA, May 13, 2010 /Publishing and Books PR News/ -- Amber Bowden, Owner of MedTrakker , a home based business for publishing and distributing, has once again taken my creative, innovative, entrepreneurial spirit, and created more than the 'Cancer Medical Organizer'. I have created several more organizers specific to many different areas of health concerns that seem to plague our population, as well as one that is universal and can be used by anyone.
My innovative concept of designing a Cancer Medical Organizer came from a personal experience when my Mother was diagnosed with Leukemia in 2006. Being my Mother's primary caregiver, while trying to hold down a full time job, became an extreme challenge.
After a person hears the news that they have a lifelong or terminal health condition, their life is turned into a whirlwind of lab tests, procedures, possible surgeries, doctor appointments, medical claims, and pharmacy runs. Thus, the first version of the MedTrakker Cancer Medical Organizer came into existence.
Since then, I have developed an expertise on what is currently required in the area of medical records. My experiences from caring for family members with Cancer, Diabetes, and Heart related illnesses have contributed to my proficiency. I have consulted with Physicians, Nurse Practitioners, Business Professionals, and Patients, all of whom have contributed many ideas and suggestions for each individual Personal Health Record.
MedTrakker's Mission...
MedTrakker Medical Organizers are empowering individuals to manage their healthcare through the use of these Personal Medical Organizers. They enable a person, be it the patient or caregiver, to document, track, and discuss their medical records related to cancer, diabetes, and heart disease. The organizers are an essential tool for managing specific health conditions, and treatment stages, that exceed well beyond basic emergency care information.
Hard Copy vs. Electronic Records...
While the use of Electronic Personal Health Records are becoming ever more popular, the MedTrakker's hard copies provide a very convenient, and on the spot accessibility, right at your fingertips without needing to be near a computer. Being accessible in places where people do not always have access to a PC, or in a power failure shows their usefulness, as well as for those that are less than tech savvy. The MedTrakker Organizer's are portable so they can always be with you, and can be accessed by any health care provider, caregiver, family member, or loved one in an emergency.
Description Of The Hard Copy...
Each MedTrakker comes in a 1" 3-Ring Binder, with inside pockets on the front & back covers. The binder allows you to add any necessary papers as time goes on, & take out papers that will no longer be needed. The pockets are a great place to store any loose papers, or receipts, until a more convenient time for you to organize them into your binder. Each informational section is tabbed, for ease & convenience at the flip of a page.

You will find a short description of how I founded The Cancer Medical Organizer, the first MedTrakker in this series back in 2006, and my inspiration behind MedTrakker . It was through a deep, and sorrowful, personal experience after my Mother was diagnosed with Acute Lymphoblastic (or Lymphocytic) Leukemia, otherwise known as ALL. Being buried in paperwork and having to navigate, as well as make major decisions, was confusing and overwhelming to me while managing every aspect of my Mother's treatment care process.
A little further down the Home Page you will find many of the benefits listed of owning a MedTrakker. Such as; (1) a convenient centralized location for all of your medical information; (2) managing information specific to you such as allergies, medications, adverse effects, conditions, surgeries, etc., (3) it is portable so that it goes where you go, and when you go; (4) it provides all of your current and accurate information for health care providers & caregivers, (5) it helps reduce or eliminate costly duplicate tests and allows patients to receive faster, safer treatments and care in an emergency, and (6) it stores all of the important contact information readily at hand in case of an emergency.
Each MedTrakker Organizer is very personal to the patient, which has their First Name & First Initial of the last name, and it may be customized with any picture of their choosing. On the left side of the MedTrakker Home Page you will find a link to each specific MedTrakker, the Customization Page, Testimonials, Partners, and more, that will get you right to where you want to go. Each specific MedTrakker Organizer Home page, with a couple of exceptions concerning the Universal MedTrakker, has links under the Banner that will provide you with a "Table of Contents" that is in each MedTrakker, a "Tour" of exactly what you will get in your MedTrakker. A "Description" of the management sections that will give you partial insight of what is included to help you manage, document, and share your treatment progress with your health care providers and caregivers, as well as an "Order" link.

The Order Page gives a description of Pricing and Shipping Information, the different forms of payment accepted, and the Return Policy. On the Cancer MedTrakker Home Page, under the banner to the right of the "Order" page, you will also find a link to an Essay Contest I am running. It is called "The Cancer Journey" and will be running until the end of this year, 2010. The contest will allow someone every month, who might not otherwise be able to afford an Organizer, to win one. To enter the Contest a patient, or one of their family members, would write a 500-1000 word essay about "Why they or their loved one would benefit from owning a Cancer MedTrakker." The Entrance Fee is $3.00 to be submitted electronically by visiting MedTrakker.com's Home Page. The Winner will also receive a free Gift Basket from the non-profit, Laugh At Cancer Organization, of which I am also a proud partner.
